In amongst the sleepless nights, endless washing and fear of doing the wrong thing, if you are not religious and don’t want a baptism and christening, it is very easy to forget to take time out and celebrate!
The arrival of a new baby or an adopted child is a time of change and a ceremony and celebration can help to mark this. It is an opportunity to bring the extended family and friends together. It’s an opportunity to remember that you are not alone and that it’s OK to ask for help.
A naming ceremony gives you the opportunity to affirm your new arrival and formally give them their name.
